Thank you sooo much! You are sweet to say that. I really enjoyed the challenge of using the flat, matte green background paint in a way that wouldn't seem well...ugly to the eye. When I first got the moss green paint--which was on sale, so I brought a boatload of it, I found it very flat and very one dimensional. I let the paint sit around for awhile until one day I decided I was going to attempt to create something hopefully, appealing to the eye with the stuff. The next thing I knew..."The Code" came to life. I am delighted you like this painting!
Thanks, Lou! Yes, it was a new color for me. It's Jo Sonja's, Matte Flow Acrylic in Moss Green. I have never used any matte colors before, so I was curious whether I would like the finish or not. I really do like the flatness of the moss green on the canvas. I think it makes the rest of the regular acrylics I used pop a bit more. I'm looking forward to trying some more matter paints in the future.
Yes I started my art with acrylics in the mid-80s but now I use pastels and a camera! My acrylics died and I can't afford more right now! I'd like to try oil because I love to blend and acrylics dried before my blend worked. This is one of my last acrylics...[link]
I am sooo happy you like this one! I wish I could take a photo of this painting that accurately captures the detail...The smaller circles have so much detail but it just doesn't show up in the pic I took.
